A-Levels or Foundation Programme?
A-levels
If you have an excellent command of academic English and you are aiming for Top UK Universities for your undergraduate study, you can be confident to apply for A-levels. It is an ideal option if you are not sure of your chosen subjects as you can opt to study a mix of subjects including Science, Art and Business. Completing A-levels assures your path to UK higher education.
A-levels are offered by all UK public colleges for high school graduates with outstanding English. There are two intakes only: January and September with a significantly higher failure rate. Therefore, some UK universities only accept A-levels qualifications for subjects like Medicine.
Foundation Programs
Designed specifically for overseas/ international students, Foundation requires much lower level of English. Foundation courses provide international students with the right qualification to get into universities the easier way. Less subjects is also one of the advantages. There are also English and study-skills support modules included in these Foundation programs. They are offered at international colleges and pathway providers who are partnered with certain universities.
Not all of the international colleges assure access to the university campuses and facilities. However, if you do a good research before applying, you can find a lot of these foundation courses are based within university campuses, which means you’re also entitled to use university’s facilities.
Unlike A-levels, there are up to three intakes per academic year: January, June, September with higher completion rate. This also explains why only a number of universities accept students with foundation onto their programs.

Sufficient funds to cover tuition fees (approx. £10,000 – £18,000 per annum) and living costs (approx. £8,500-£10,000 per annum)
Undergraduate Study
